The opening of the Talking Therapies Wellbeing Hub on Gilchrist Avenue earlier this week marked a new chapter for the team and their clients.
The event showcased the work of Talking Therapies, a free service that helps people to manage stress, anxiety and other low-level mental health issues.
Talking Therapies provides support and services that help people to deal with the root causes of mental wellbeing issues, including practical help around debt and money management, physical health, loneliness and isolation, bereavement, housing and employment.
The service welcomes clients from all walks of life and with all kinds of challenges, but the thing that links them all together is a real desire to find practical ways to feel happier, healthier and more able to successfully manage their lives for the longer term.
Here’s how one of their clients felt after attending their first set of group sessions.
With weekly support from the others in my group, along with the group facilitators (Vic & Lisa) I have learned and developed some great wellness tools, which mean that I can now manage my symptoms – and stop my symptoms managing me
Talking Therapies provides support in the Eastern Cheshire NHS area (Macclesfield, Disley, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Congleton, Poynton, Holmes Chapel, Chelford, Knutsford, Bollington)
