Supporting the community: our donation to the Silklife Foodbank

Macclesfield-based Peaks & Plains Housing Trust has donated all their staff donations of non-perishable food items to Silklife Foodbank.

The Trust had previously been providing its own small foodbank service to their customers, offering food parcels for those in financial hardship. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the customer teams no-longer have access to their offices where the food was stored.

Keen to put their donations to good use they reached out to their local foodbank Silklife to see if they could help.

Chrissie Thompson at Silklife Foodbank,

I would like to thank Peaks & Plains for donating a large number of items to the Silklife Foodbank.
We are extremely grateful to them for helping us out at a time when our resources are severely stretched due to coronavirus.

Head of customer experience, David Squires said,

Silklife Foodbank do an amazing job across Macclesfield making sure that those facing financial difficulties are able to feed themselves and their families. The COVID-19 outbreak has added extra strain on the foodbank’s resources, we're so pleased we can offer our donations and help.

It's important we work together with local partners and charities during these difficult times to ensure our customers, and the communities they live in, feel supported, and have access to the help they need.

Are you struggling alone through this lockdown? Don't suffer in silence. There are people who are ready to help.
