Recognised for creating great places to live in Macclesfield

Macclesfield housing provider, Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, has been awarded three commendations and a certificate of celebration by Macclesfield Civic Society.

The Macclesfield Civic Society received a range of nominations from members of the public for developments completed in 2018.  These included high quality housing and retail developments.

Peaks & Plains will be receiving recognition for:

• Building four new homes at Warwick Road, Macclesfield
• New build flats at Wilton Crescent, off Warwick Road, Macclesfield
• Their apartment block which involved rebuilding and reinstatement of former façade facing the Peace Garden at Park Green, Macclesfield

Alongside these, Peaks & Plains, will be receiving a joint Certificate of Celebration award with local army veteran, Walt Freudenau. Walt painted the commemorative mural facing Peace Garden at Park Green for the Centenary Armistice Celebrations in 2018.

Walt Freudenau said,

Painting the mural was something very close to my heart having served as a Soldier in the British Armed Forces and my Son currently serving now. I was humbled by the response it got and humbled by the award. So for all who served, past, present and future this award is for them

Peaks & Plains Chief Executive, Tim Pinder commented,

We've pledged to create great places to live, as well as deliver ambitious regeneration plans for Macclesfield Town, as part of our five-year plan. We’re absolutely delighted our work has been recognised by Macclesfield Civic Society.

The awards ceremony will be taking place on 17th April where Peaks & Plains will proudly accept their awards.
