Gardening competition 2024

Time to show off your best shrubs, tubs and bulbs! We've seen your gardens flourishing - why not enter them into this competition for the chance to win a grand prize?

This year, we've changed up the categories to our competition. You can submit your green space into as many categories as you like - as long as it's relevant. Here's what we're looking for:

  • Best Garden (front or back)
  • Communal/Community Garden
  • Wildlife Garden
  • My Family's Garden
  • My brilliant balcony/window sill
  • Best hanging basket/tub

How to enter:

Fill in the form at the bottom of this page about your garden, your neighbour's garden (if you're nominating another Trust tenant) or if you're a community group.

You can also email us pictures to GetInvolved@peaksplains.org or post them to Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, Ropewalks, Newton Street, Macclesfield, SK11 6QJ

Our deadline is August 15th 2024.

Judging:

Our judges will look at your garden's visual impact, originality, your time and effort, and the consideration that you've given to both the wildlife and surrounding environment.

Prizes:

We know how much commitment gardening takes, so every category has a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize. We also have a Grand Prize for our favourite green space out of all the categories.

Inspiration:

Here are a few of our entries from previous years if you're wondering what we might be looking for.

You need to live in one of our homes to enter - unless you're a community garden. Then you just need to be on our patch! (That just means near our homes - Cheshire East or High Peak)
