Macclesfield Garden Festival 19-21 May

We are is a celebration of gardens, design, art & nature. You are invited along to enjoy the fun.

When?

Visit the Floral Art & Sculpture marquee and show ground at Christ Church gardens

Enjoy a drink from the Boho Bar and a bite to eat at one of two food vendors

Meet and talk to garden designers and floral artists.

Plus:

  • ‘What A Load of Rubbish’ a celebration of scrap to really show the possibilities of recycling.
  • The Jurassic Garden where a selection of ancient plants such as ferns, monkey puzzle and ginko bilobo trees will be joined by a herd of dinosaurs, designed and built by six local primary schools.

Be amazed by the massive Macclesfield Town Hall art installations, created by All Hallows Catholic College, Fallibroome Academy, Macclesfield Academy and Tytherington School.

Also Macclesfield Artspace will be creating ‘Yarn Bomb’ installations, a woolly explosion that's not to be missed.

Saturday 20 May

Join in with a riot of music and entertainment from groups and schools across the town.

Q&A sessions by paleantologists and professional foragers.

The 1@1to1 Spring Wassail, where children (and adults) are encouraged to get dressed up as The Green Man or Mother Nature and at 1minute to 1 o’clock the kids will make as much noise as possible with pots, pans, whistles and tambourines.

Children from 14 primary schools will help create the King’s School Yarn Tree project.

Sunday 21 May

Wander around the showground at Christ Church Gardens

Don’t miss the Garden Review Show featuring Macclesfield’s singers, dancers, choirs and poets.

Grab a bargain from the David Ross plants emporium in Market Square or at the plan stalls at Christ Church.

You may even be inspired to place an order with MKM for some of their landscape products on display.

Tickets are available prior to the event and are:

  • £2.50 for Friday 19 May
  • £4.00 for Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May.
