Sheds & greenhouses Back

Tenants who wish to have a shed or greenhouse at their property should ensure that they read and fully understand the following information when considering if their property would be suitable.

Please not that:

You must ask for permission to install a shed or a greenhouse in a communal garden.

This structure must be smaller than 7ft x 5ft.

Further Guidance on Installing a Shed or Greenhouse:

It must contain no sleeping accommodation and have no electric supply.

The shed must be one metre from a boundary. It should be no more than three metres high for a flat roof, or four metres with a ridged roof.

You will be responsible for all maintenance and repairs to any structure you install with or without our permission.

There must be suitable area and size of land for the shed or greenhouse to be installed.

When considering the size and location, you must make sure the shed or greenhouse will not block light to neighbouring properties.

A shed or greenhouse must generally be sited in the garden at the back of the property; however, consideration will be given to sheds or greenhouses to be installed in a side garden, where there is no suitable area in the back garden.

The shed or greenhouse should be at least 3.5 metres away from the property and built on a level surface of hard-core or paving slabs.

You will be responsible for all maintenance and repairs to any structure you install with or without permission.
