Ways to Pay Your Rent

All Peaks & Plains tenants are charged rent to live in their home. This rent covers the costs of the services we provide, including repairs and improvements, so it is very important that everyone pays their rent on time.

If you would like to discuss your rent account or make a payment please contact our Customer Experience team on 0800 012 1311.

Rent is due each week and is charged to your account on a Monday. You can choose to pay your rent weekly or monthly, but in both cases you will need to pay in advance. There are normally 48 weeks when rent is due each year, with two non-rent weeks in March/April and two during December. As a tenant, it is your responsibility to ensure that rent gets paid on time.

Ways to pay your rent

There are lots of different ways you can pay your rent so there is certain to be a method that's convenient for you.

  • By Direct Debit: This is the easiest way to pay your rent and can be set up for one of four possible dates each month (1st, 8th, 15th or 20th). All you need to do is ask us for a Direct Debit form, complete this and return it to us and we'll do the rest. We will always confirm in writing the payments due before we take any money from your account. To pay by Direct Debit you will need to complete a form, which you can find by clicking here.
  • Online: You can pay online by using the Your Account page on our website. You will need your Tenancy Reference number to set up an account – you can then pay online as well as access some of our other services. Click here to pay online.
  • By Standing Order: If the direct debit dates are not suitable you can set up a Standing Order for weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly or monthly payments. Ask your bank to set up a standing order and give them the following details:

Account Name: Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Ltd - Revenue Account
    Account Number: 90606278
    Sort Code: 20-53-77
    Bank Details: Barclays Bank plc
    Reference: Your tenancy reference number
Amount: How much you want to pay
Frequency: How often you need payments to be made
  • By Debit Card: Our Customer Experience team can take your payment over the telephone
  • By Post: Only cheque payments can be made through the post. Please write your tenancy reference number on the back of the cheque or postal order and send to: Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, Ropewalks, Newton Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 6QJ
  • At the Bank: You can pay at any branch of Barclays Bank (this includes cash payments). When making your payment, please quote the following details:

Account Name: Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Ltd - Revenue Account
    Account Number: 90606278
    Sort Code: 20-53-77
    Reference: tenancy reference number

If you have any questions about any of the payment methods please email us at trust@peaksplains.org or call us on 0800 012 1311.

Housing Benefit or Universal Credit

If you are entitled to benefit payments, it is your responsibility to claim them, otherwise you will still be responsible for paying your full rent. To make a claim for Housing Benefit please contact your local council and request a claim form. To make a claim for Universal Credit apply online at www.gov.uk/universal-credit
